Aztec Civilization



The Aztecs were a civilization of central Mexico. They spoke the Nahuatl language and dominated large parts of Mesoamerica between the 14th and 16th century. The centre of their empire was Tenochtitlan, located on an island in Lake Texcoco (where Mexico city is locate now) 




Aztec Empire 

The Aztecs were great warriors, and conquered various different civilizations that resided with in their reach. The civilizations under the Aztecs rule payed tribute to the Aztecs, such as human sacrifices for the Aztec Gods.




Artesanias and Architecture 

The Aztec empire was a fast compilation of different architecture. 

An altar known as Tzompantli, was composed of more than 240 skulls and was a representation of the region of the dead. 




Chac-mool, which means "the divine messenger" also known as the intermediate
 between the God's and the Humans


La Piedra del Sol, (The stone of the Sun) was the Aztecs calendar.
